Taking responsibility with sustainable building materials

The construction industry is evolving, and environmental requirements are becoming increasingly important, especially when choosing building materials.

BREEAM is one of the world’s leading sustainability assessment certifications and looks at the entire lifecycle of a building. Norway has several BREEAM projects in the country, but that hasn’t stopped them from getting more – an office building just became the first "Excellent" project in the city of Trondheim.

An office with high confidentiality

The office building is home to many companies, but Nordic Semiconductor had some special requests. They needed a space that offered confidentiality because they develop and test their new technology in-house.

Design for different areas

The office design needed to accommodate different working environments, so Arcasa arkitekter, an Oslo based architectural company, designed the space to include offices of various sizes, meeting rooms and an open office. To create the privacy Nordic Semiconductor wanted, Arcasa arkitekter opted to use Rockfon Blanka dB42 because of its high sound-insulating and sound-absorbing properties and Rockfon Tropic because of its smooth, attractive surface with good sound absorption.

Rockfon Blanka dB42 has been replaced by Rockfon Blanka dB 43 in our assortment.
