Future-oriented

Martijn van Leeuwen, from RoosRos architects, was in charge as project architect for overseeing the project and creating a design for an educational facility that is future-oriented and healthy.

“We chose Rockfon Blanka® due to its extra white appearance, with the aim of obtaining as much natural light as possible into the learning environment. And of course, this is complemented with good acoustics to ensure speech intelligibility in the classrooms.", explained Van Leeuwen.

Bright spaces

Rockfon Blanka® has a high light reflection of 87% and a light diffusion of >99%. This means that the light is reflected as much as possible and it is distributed evenly. As a result, this creates bright spaces where students and teachers feel more comfortable. And, at the same time, it helps save energy costs. The use of panels in extra large dimensions of 1200x1200 mm and 900x900 mm, in combination with the matt white Chicago Metallic suspension system, ensures a very calm appearance.

The walls of each floor are covered with Rockfon Color-all® ceilings in the colours "Concrete" and "Storm," which highlight various rooms and areas. They are meant to be natural to go with the building's natural materials. Furthermore, the unique wall decorations add to the distinctive appearance.

Proud of teamwork

Joost van Dijk, director of vanDIJK Finishing Projects, looks back with pride on the realisation of this beautiful project. “I am most proud of this project because in the end, we managed to make the work in the shapes, heights, and types that we had in mind.”

For example, profiles with LED strips were integrated in various places in the ceilings, which fits in nicely with the play of light and lines that is characteristic of the entire building. The many bright spaces contribute to the well-being of the students and teachers in this open, transparent, future-proof school.
