Orac Experience Centre in Barcelona, Spain
Particularly distinctive of the Orac Experience Centre in Barcelona is its "Cave" – a monochromatic room with nude-coloured interiors right at the entrance. Here, the installers initially encountered the challenge of adapting the ceiling to curved areas with the Orac Decor wall mouldings. For this, Mono Acoustic was installed in a custom colour, curved, and shaped for the space.
Summit Restaurant in Champoluc, Italy
Overlooking the Aosta Valley in Italy, the Summit Restaurant at the boutique hotel Aethos Monterosa takes a contemporary approach in reflecting its mountainside charm. Rockfon Mono Acoustic in a soft beige colour completes a refined ceiling design without robbing attention from the mountains outside.
Sommerro Hotel in Oslo, Norway
After a long process of meticulous restoration and renovation, a beloved landmark originally built by the architects Andreas Bjerke and Georg Eliassen in the 1930s was renovated by LPO Arkitekter and is now the Sommerro Hotel. Though the original facade and art deco interior details continue to be almost identical to how they were when the building was first erected, the acoustics property-wide – including in the restaurant – were improved with Rockfon Mono Acoustic ceilings.
Brasserie Astoria in Stockholm, Sweden
In one of Stockholm’s buzziest neighbourhoods is the Astoria House, a space that was built in the 1870s as a cinema and later restored and converted into a restaurant by Joyn Studio. “The green and red colours used in the suspended ceiling were inspired by the details in the original interiors, and it fits very well in the new space because we’ve kept some of the original detailing," said Ida Wanler, founding partner at the studio.
Brasserie Astoria in Stockholm, Sweden
Another area in the Brasserie Astoria with Mono Acoustic in Colour is the bar area. “The inner part of the bar has no daylight, so we wanted to give this space its own unique design that plays with light and shadow as well as the colours from the suspended ceilings throughout the day. Together with the mature plants, the colours and design give a feeling of warmth that you would find in a conservatory or an orangery," added Wanler.
Restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm, Sweden
Also designed by Joyn Studio is the Restaurant Frantzén, one of the top-rated fine dining restaurants in Sweden. To complete an exceptional experience, room acoustics had to be prioritised. Mono Acoustic elegantly completes the space and contributes to a cosy feel by the fireplace.
Sommerro Hotel in Oslo, Norway
“We used the acoustic solutions in both new rooms that we designed ourselves, as well as protected rooms that we worked on in close collaboration with the city antiquarian. We worked to find a compromise that preserves the original expression while contributing to good acoustics," says Sjøstrand. “The facade and interior details are almost identical as they were when Oslo Lysverker opened its head office in 1932," said Øystein Sjøstrand, project manager at LPO Arkitekter – the studio behind the design of the Sommerro Hotel.
Orac Experience Centre in Barcelona, Spain
In combination with Rockfon Eclipse Customised acoustic islands, Mono Acoustic in mustard yellow was installed across the “Exhibition Room” of the Orac Experience Centre, complementing the Egyptian hieroglyphics that engulf the space. An acoustic solution was especially important to control the reverberation generated by the sound of the presentations and high foot traffic during events, more so since the room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
